Coasters Beneath The Glasses

When the lights are dimmed at ten,

And staying up late is no longer a trend,

When you’re flooded with responsibilities from heaven to hell,

You know you’ve turned 30, when you want coasters beneath the glasses.

When parties are more of a headache,

And all the bills paid and your bed made is your kind of fun,

You know you’ve turned 30,

When you want coasters beneath the glasses.

When sleep is what you value more

As compared to a late-night drive on the road,

Friends and family are all you adore,

You know you’ve turned 30,

When the glasses do the table dirty,

And you want coasters beneath the glasses.

When weekends are all you look forward to,

And frequent outings are an unwanted expense for you,

Savings is only a concept, and salary credited is the only happy term,

You know you’ve turned 30,

When you want coasters beneath the glasses.

Life goes on, and you simply play along

You’re happy nevertheless,

Satisfied with the table not having glass stains,

Because you’re 30,

And you’ve got coasters beneath the glasses
