Men don’t cry!

I hear it alot,
That men don’t cry.
It’s because the stereotyped society tells
"Mard rote nahi"

They bleed inwards,
They bleed with their fear,
A fear of societal pressure.
A pressure which is too hard to accept.

They are taught no matter who dies,
Be tough enough to not cry
Coz our society tells "MEN DON’T CRY."

Men don’t feel the pain
That’s a false preach!
They wet their pillows
And still wake up fine
Acting as if nothing ever happened
Coz our society tells "MEN DON’T CRY".

He is broken,
But still has a smile.
He has a moustache,
But still wants to be a child.
He plays a victim of a failed social system.
Coz our society tells "MEN DON’T CRY".

From his silence drips tear,
Tears of he wanting to speak out ,
As he has been told it’s a sin,
Sin to express.
Coz our society tells "MEN DON’T CRY".

It’s enough of saying "mard rote nahi".
Rather we need to tell them to express,
Express what they feel.
Crying won’t decide their gender.
Crying won’t make them weak.
It’s time to tell males in our family
To stop crying to sleep every night,
And start expressing.
Coz it’s enough of living in a society.
That says "MEN DON’T CRY".
