Team DJS VAGSHEER is the official Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) team of Dwarkadas J. Sanghvi College Of Engineering. A group of highly enthusiastic and hardworking undergraduate marine enthusiasts spanning numerous academic disciplines. The team works towards participating in various National and International competitions.
DJS Vagsheer offers a holistic engineering experience developing cutting-edge technology, controlling the entire design, manufacturing, testing, integration, and analysis cycle to perform predefined tasks that the competition demands. This draws upon the expertise of the areas of engineering provided by a multifaceted team.
The technology revolutionizing underwater exploration will thus prove to be a substantial tool to stimulate the spirit of AUV applications along with the great depth of the oceans.

Although the first vehicle grabbed many eyeballs as a debutante, but in light of the Covid-19 situation, the SAUVC and the MATE ROV Competitions were postponed to the subsequent year leading to the abrupt conclusion of the team’s 2019-20 season. Howbeit, the team is thriving and preparing to participate in the upcoming seasons of SAUVC and MATE.
Where Do We Compete?
We participate in the Singapore Autonomous Underwater Vehicle Competition (SAUVC), which is held in Singapore in which teams of high school and college students from around the world design and build an Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) and at the MATE ROV Regional Competition held in India.
The goal of both the competitions is to develop an AUV capable of completing realistic missions underwater. The competition is a great learning ground for participants to experience the challenges of AUV system engineering and develop skills in the related fields of mechanical, electrical, and software engineering. And the tasks are designed to simulate the real-life problems faced by the navy during rescue missions and underwater exploration.
